Welcome – old

There are many reasons why you may be considering therapy, including finding your way within relationships, making difficult decisions, coming to terms with change, experiences of abuse or the challenges of getting older.

Counselling can bring calm and understanding to replace the pain, anxiety and disturbance that you may be feeling. These distressing feelings may stem from wounds experienced within relationships like abandonment, childhood neglect, or from traumas like an attack or a car accident. The work we do can bring peace to the past and create a foundation for a better future.

EMDR can take the sting out of old trauma memories that may feel as sharp today as they did when the traumatic event occurred. These feelings may persist despite months, even years of counselling or psychotherapy. Often EMDR can quite quickly process the traumas into memories that no longer disturb you.

Counselling and EMDR are non-invasive therapies for managing the challenges that life throws at us.  As an adjunct to EMDR, I also use the Flash Technique, in which the most painful traumas can be processed without the need to dwell directly on them.

In addition, I offer supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.

I’ve been counselling clients for over 20 years and providing supervision for more than 10. I offer a safe space, compassionate presence and knowledge that comes from wide experience.

I see clients and supervisees online on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and in-person in Stroud on Thursdays and Fridays. Online can be equally as safe, effective and relational as meeting in-person.

As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by the BACP’s Ethical Framework.

Contact me if you want to experience one of these therapies as a way of bringing your life back on track.
